Overview
This policy explains how Forelock Games handles information in Decodly, our cryptogram game for Android and iOS. You can play without creating a Decodly account. Core puzzles, progress and statistics work on your device. Available features and data processing depend on the version you install. The initial ad-free testing releases disable advertisements and purchases; advertising and purchase sections below apply when these features are enabled. We update this policy when our practices change.
Information stored on your device
Decodly stores puzzle progress, completed discoveries, favorites, local statistics, lives, hints, language, keyboard layout, theme, accessibility and sharing preferences on your device. Premium ownership may be cached locally for offline access. We do not provide a Decodly account, cloud save or synchronization of your puzzle history. Device operating-system backups may include app data under your device settings. Deleting app data or uninstalling may remove your local progress; operating-system backup copies are managed separately.
Optional gameplay analytics
Gameplay usage sharing is off until you allow it. When enabled, Google Analytics for Firebase helps us understand and improve gameplay. Our own events include tutorial completion, difficulty selection, puzzle start, restart and completion, with language, mode, difficulty, elapsed play time, mistakes and hints used. Firebase may also process automatic engagement events, app version, device and operating-system information, approximate location inferred from network information and app-instance or installation identifiers. These reports are not necessarily anonymous. Our custom gameplay events do not include typed letters, quote text, quote IDs, player names, email addresses or payment tokens. We do not upload your prior local gameplay history when you enable sharing.
Optional crash reporting
Crash reporting is a separate choice, initially off. If you enable it, Firebase Crashlytics can receive crash stack traces, technical logs, app and operating-system versions, device information and installation identifiers to help diagnose failures. The SDK may retain diagnostic reports locally before upload is permitted. Disabling crash sharing stops future uploads according to the SDK controls; it does not automatically erase reports already received.
Advertising and privacy choices
When advertising is enabled, Decodly uses Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK. Interstitial ads appear at eligible transitions after completed puzzles. Rewarded ads are optional: a completed video can provide one life or one unused hint. Premium removes mandatory ads but retains optional rewarded videos. Advertising services may process IP addresses, approximate location, device or advertising identifiers, ad views and interactions, and technical diagnostics to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud and maintain security. Advertising data processing is separate from the optional Firebase sharing settings. Where required, a consent message lets you choose how advertising data is used; advertising privacy options allow you to review applicable choices. Some limited advertising processing may occur without personalized-ad consent where permitted. Device advertising and tracking controls also apply. We do not access the iOS advertising identifier without the required platform permission. Test builds may display Google sample ads rather than production inventory.
Premium purchases
When purchases are enabled, the Apple App Store or Google Play processes payment for a permanent, platform-specific Premium purchase. Unity In-App Purchasing connects the game to the platform store to check product availability, localized price, transaction status and ownership, and to restore eligible purchases. Transaction information and receipts may be processed for these purposes. We do not receive your full payment-card details. Refunds and purchase history are managed through the store. A local entitlement cache is not a shared cross-platform account.
Support and information you send us
If you contact support, we receive your email address, message and any screenshots or technical information you choose to send. We use them to answer your request and investigate problems. Please do not send passwords, full payment details or unnecessary sensitive information. Contact us at leandrorlls@gmail.com.
Why information is processed and who receives it
We use necessary local data and store transaction information to provide the game and purchased features, consent-based analytics to improve the game, consent-based crash reporting to diagnose failures, and advertising data under the choices and legal grounds applicable to your region. We also process support requests and security information for legitimate support and protection purposes. Service providers include Google (Firebase and AdMob), Unity In-App Purchasing, Apple or Google Play, and our website hosting provider. Information may also be disclosed when legally required or necessary to protect rights and prevent abuse. Advertising providers may use data for their own purposes as described in their policies and the consent message; we do not promise that ad processing is anonymous or that it never constitutes sale or sharing under regional privacy definitions.
Retention and international processing
Local game data remains until you clear it, remove the app, or it is otherwise removed by your device. We retain support correspondence as needed to resolve requests and meet applicable obligations. Google, Unity and platform stores apply their own service retention rules to data they process; withdrawing a future collection choice does not automatically delete past data. Service providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States, using applicable legal safeguards. See the provider information linked below for details.
Your choices and rights
In Decodly Settings, you can change gameplay-usage and crash-report sharing independently. Where required and available, use advertising privacy options to review or withdraw advertising choices, including applicable opt-outs. You may also reset or delete advertising identifiers through Android settings, or manage tracking permissions in iOS settings. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, receive portable data, withdraw consent, or complain to a supervisory authority. Email us to make a request; we may need limited information to verify it. We cannot identify every analytics or advertising record from your email alone, and some requests may need to be directed to the relevant provider. We do not require creating a game account to exercise rights.
Children and families
Decodly does not require a name, date of birth or player account. Parents and guardians should supervise advertising, purchases and device settings for children. We do not knowingly request personal information directly from children through the game. If you believe a child provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action. App-store age ratings and regional consent requirements apply; an age rating is not a statement that every third-party service is suitable for every child.
This website and policy updates
This policy page does not embed advertising, Firebase Analytics or a contact form. The hosting service may process ordinary request information, such as IP address and browser details, to serve and secure the page. External links have their own privacy practices. We may revise this policy as features or services change; the updated date appears at the top. Material changes that require a new choice will be accompanied by the appropriate in-app notice or consent flow.
